Erinvale Golf Club
The Erinvale Golf Course in Somerset West was designed by Gary Player and is considered one of the best golf courses in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
The golf course is situated on the former Erinvale Farm at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains.
The view is spectacular -overlooking the False Bay and the foothills of the Hottentots Holland Mountain Range to the east.
Through the protection against the wind conditions by the mountain range the golf course is remarkably calm.
The first 9 holes lie in the valley, despite the many bunkers and water play areas the Erinvale golf course is relatively easy to play.
The holes 10 to 18 are located on a hilly terrain and more difficult to handle.
The slope of the fairways is significant in this part of the golf course.
The modern clubhouse is spacious with a good restaurant and hosts a well-equipped pro shop.
